Twenty-eight years ago, I was born in the former Yugoslavia. More than 20 years ago, I came to Switzerland as a war refugee. Thanks to the chances I was given I could integrate myself very quickly, enjoy a good education and study International Affairs. Having this background, I was always driven by the wish to better understand the world, to be able to help make it a better place.
That’s also my reason for joining IKEA at the beginning of the year. I believe that a global retailer of this size can have a huge impact on the lives of the many people around the world. Every organisation and every human being can do something to contribute to a greater good. Therefore, I also wished to be part of IWitness; to see and experience through my own eyes what can be done to improve the lives of those who did not have the chances I was given. Thanks to pictures and messages, these experiences can be transported to others and will hopefully inspire them to contribute themselves to a better global tomorrow.
